Type Family
After researching and reporting on an alphabet different from our English alphabet (example: Hebrew, Arabic, Greek, Thai) each student had to design their own type family.
The family needed to include both the upper and lower case letters as well as numerals. Each letter and number was hand-rendered.
Nick took influence from the Asian alphabets and used a pointy stick shape to create each of the upper case letters. His lower case letters were influenced by the upper case letters, but used curved elements to form each letter, this helped soften each letter and improve legibility. He chose to use Roman instead of our traditional numerals because they would mimic the upper case letters more closely.
